Story Demo Movie Script

Standind atop the roof of one temple is a young man wearing baggy silk pants.  His bare torso reveals a lean, muscular form with peculiar ash gray skin.  He's absent hair but faint stripes can vaguely be seen patterned on his scalp.  He wears a perpetually disinterested look, but his turquoise eyes have a mysterious intensity.  BLUSAGE scans the horizon for a moment and notices a ROYAL CARAVAN approaching the temple.  He half drops- half slithers through a window beneath him.

INT. CLOUD TEMPLE, CHAMBER -- DAY

Blusage enters a temple chamber with great statues.  Gold and crystal studded relics are held or worn by these statues.  Throughout the room near each a Chryslan stands guard.  Blusage stops at the feet of a stone ogre carrying a scimitar that shines like a star.  It's hilt is platinum with ruby gems decked within.  A voice off screen jars him.

VOICE

You're late!

BLUSAGE turns to face a tall, broad shouldered woman with lavender skin and midnight pink hair tied in a bun; LIEU TERRA.

TERRA

I told you we would have a presentation today.  I told you to get here early!

She leers at him, waiting for an answer.  He remains silent for a moment (as if he owes her no explanation).

BLUSAGE

The gallery hasn't started.  The precession isn't even at the gate.  I'd say I'm early.

He turns his back on her and walks across the room to take his post.  She stalks him.

TERRA

You're not even in uniform!  (she turns to another guard) Bring me a tunic.  What are you thinking coming in like this Blusage?

BLUSAGE (smirks)

I was thinking we need a new dress code.  Show off the impressive physiques of your lil' guard dogs to help enhance the show.

TERRA eyes his gray skin with disgust.

TERRA

I might not have a problem with that if one of our sentinels had earned his colors by now.

Blusage grits his teeth and gives her a death stare before turning to get the uniform from the other guard.  The doors open and the procession enters, gawking at the statues.  They are a mix of elvish looking people dressed in splendid regalia.  A short fat Chryslan AMBASSADOR leads them in.

AMBASSADOR

Welcome to Cloud Temple!  Gaze upon mystic talismans, magic orbs and the finest relics crafted from over 3,000 years of Chryslan enchantment.

TERRA

We proudly present to you the first of our Enchantments, the Astral Sceptre!

A guard steps forth bearing a gold double headed pole.  At the tip of each head is an opening.  Terra brings him two jewels the size of tangerines.  He places each jewel into the openings (they float into place like magnets) and immediately the pole begins to vibrate.  He holds it steady as shards of light begin to flutter out from the ends.  He begins twirling the staff about expertly, the shards spinning in all directions.

AMBASSADOR

The Astral Sceptre was wielded by Tal' Challa in his battle against the Horde on Mount Thane.  Standing atop its peak he vanquished thousands of demonic minions.

More guards roll out a dozen armored dummies on carts and surround the sceptre-wielding guard.  He waves his sceptre and strikes two of the dummies directly in the chest.  The crystal shards explode into a swarm like wasps and begin to slice through all of the dummies.  In only seconds the dummies hang limp with thousands of holes gaping through the armor.

Through the awe of the crowd Blusage hears the guard next to him.

GUARD

Is that really the Sceptre of Tal' Challa?

BLUSAGE

No you idiot.  That's just a random replica some crystal smith concocted.  They name it that so they can jip these fools for 10 times what it's worth.

GUARD

It's powerful though.  (through clenched lips)  I don't think it's wise to sell these toys  to strangers.

BLUSAGE(mutters)

Don't matter though.  Whoever buys it won't be capable enough to wield it.  Just something they can show off to all their lil' princes and lordlings.

TERRA eyes him with a cutting stare.  The display follows with another guard bringing forth a large purple crystal.  The outer shell of its sides break off and begin to hover around it, propelling it in the air.  A few other spectacular items follow.

TERRA then approaches BLUSAGE with a glass case containing two silver hilts with no blades.  BLUSAGE reaches for them -

TERRA

Just one.

BLUSAGE

I can handle both of them.

TERRA

No.  There's too many people here... and it takes a master to wield both.

BLUSAGE

I can -

TERRA (hissing whisper)

Look!  The fact that I'm letting you present a Wing at all is an act of grace.  There are a lot of important people here and -

BLUSAGE

Got it.

TERRA

Don't mess this up!

BLUSAGE (glares)

Got it!

He takes one hilt and saunters to the center, casually twirling it in his fingers.

AMBASSADOR

And for our final enchanted relic I bring to you the Wing(s) of Soria!

Particles of light dust begin to flow from the hilt, compacting together to form a brilliant curving blade but unlike a common blade it is divided in three parts and hovers like the feathers of a wing above the hilt.  BLUSAGE twirls the hilt some more and the blades follow in wide sweeping arcs.  They seem to move in sync with BLUSAGE's movements for at times he spins and they swirl like a mini twister.

AMBASSADOR

Soria was the great phoenix from the Ancient days.  The Phoenix who battled across the cosmos against the dread serpent Sarokhan.  Their battle shook the heavens and would have rung eternal, but holy and valiant Soria exploded into a wreath of fire that consumed them both, sacrificing herself so that peace could be restored.

Despite the crowd's amusement Blusage is clearly bored.  He passes by TERRA still holding the case with the other hilt.  He snatches it.  Immediately another series of blades appears and he performs a dazzling display.  The crowd gawks and applauds.  Terra looks constipated with rage and fear.

He grows too cocky, drunk by the praise of the onlookers.  One of the blades rockets out as he gives a careless swing.  It shoots through the crowd.  Screams erupt as the other blades follow it.  Blusage flicks his wrist to get them to come back to the hilt but he is too far or doesn't have enough control.  They bounce and ricochet across the room.  He deactivates the blades to the other hilt and springs across the room to chase down the others.  Terra and the guards rush to get the crowd low and herd them behind protective pillars or coverings.  He catches one blade as it ricochets off the throat of a monstrous statue.  He jukes to avoid his foot being crushed by the decapitated statue's head.  He pounces off the hunched back of one woman who ducks to avoid a blade spinning towards her.  When in range of the hilt it magnetically attaches back to it.  He leaps across the room and finally catches the final blade before it can split the skull of one lord.  The lord faints.  With all blades caught he quickly deactivates the hilt.

CUT

TO:

INT. CLOUD TEMPLE, HALL -- DAY

Blusage slumps by a pillar with arms folded, brooding.  He ponders what went wrong and how he could have lost control of the blade.  Terra, the Ambassador, some guards and a tall stranger approach him.  Terra curls her fingers as if to strangle him.

TERRA

I told you only one!  ONE!  This is it!  You're through!  Once the elders hear of this you'll be shoveling stones for eternity!

AMBASSADOR (uses his free hand to wag a finger)

Shoveling stones?  Ptah!  We should have your head for this!  Do you have any idea the guests who were present for this?  If even one gives the word then we'll bury you under the temple!  And next to the roach nests!

The stranger steps forward; XIN, a mysterious looking middle aged man wearing a tall dark turban.  A purple winged raven sits on his shoulder and peers keenly at Blusage.

XIN

But who would give such a word... after such a fine display.  Your skill with a star blade is remarkable.  It beckons one to ponder what you could do more advanced training.

BLUSAGE

Nice to know someone appreciates talent (eyes Terra)... unlike some people I know.

TERRA tries to throttle him but is held back by the guards.

TERRA

Talent will shatter when you're a lazy reckless prick!  (the guards start ushering her away from him)  We're not done here!

XIN

No.  Not at all.  We will find a way to put this gifted one to use.

Xin smiles.  His raven continues peering.  Blusage furrows his brow mistrustfully.  The group departs.

CUT

TO:

EXT.  COUNCIL OF THE ELDERS -- DAY

TERRA and some other high ranking temple leaders wait upon an oval platform bordered by pillars.  At the center is a building that is the hall of the Elder Chryslans.  BLUSAGE shows up with an escort on a floating disc.

TERRA

Your defiance amazes me.  Even on the day of your hearing you refuse to be on time.

BLUSAGE

I knew how much you were looking forward to this so I wanted you to enjoy the build up.

TERRA

How considerate of you.  This shouldn't take long though.

TERRA and the other leaders march towards the hall.  BLUSAGE follows.

Story Demo World Building & Myth

 SETTING

The Mistworld

The vast realm where land, ocean and sea are covered with thick fogs that blend the worlds together.  For this reason some call it the Dream World.  The people who live in the lower realms of the Mists live in the Deep, which bears darker and poisonous clouds.

"Alas when the mouth of chaos opened a stream of clouds bellowed from it.  They settled among the mountains, the trees, the rivers, the plains and even the seas.  The gods decreed these mists would remain to prevent the realms from uniting once more."

The Flood

A supernatural disaster which swallowed much of the earth and formed what is now called the Mistworld.  Multiple floods have occured and they are said to be caused by the wrath of the gods when they are displeased with the perversions of man.

Hollow Point Canyon

the place where Blusage's clan of Ripturion dwell.  It is a canyon that cuts between Mount Superior and the Sunbelt.

Foul Earth

Some boulders and trees are not what they seem.  At times the land grows treacherous and begins to cause unnatural land slides and swallow people into the underworld.  This Foul Earth is remnants of the Prehistoric Titans, but possessed by evil spirits.  When a Caster comes about

Valley of Glum

In the deeper parts of the Mistworld there are a vast expanse of canyons which choke on the dark clouds which sank at the bottom.  Here the ravens cry and carry forth tidings of doom.  The men of this realm, pack dwellers of conniving and swarthy sorts, form fierce tribes and war among each other endlessly.  From forgotten legends the gods in their wrath have blotted this realm from their memory.  But one from among the clans, a mystical warrior with a spirit of hope, sets his eyes upon the stars and climbs for Mount Superior.  With gritted teeth and knotted muscles he clinches the jagged rock as he climbs.  For upon Mount Superior the temple of Glories resides, and this is where the Celestial Beacons are held.  With these the mists can be removed and peace be brought to the Valley of Glum.

River of the Ethers

A dark and mysterious realm which can only be found once one has eaten of the fruit of Adeias.  It is a gray green, blurry and cavernous world with deep pools and unsure footing.  When one traverses this world they are prone to be approached by strange spirits, demons who use them to latch into the material world.

PEOPLE

Storm Breakers

Certain blessed individuals of the Mistworld can alter the currents of the wind and/or waters.  They are the trailblazers of this world, a very precious asset to those who wish to travel to places hidden in the dark clouds.

CREATURES

Carnagi

A terrible dragon which guards the Tree of the Underworld.  It prevents any deemed unworthy of possessing the Fruit of Adeias.

Prehistoric Titans

Many of the floating rocks and mystical objects of the mistworld are relics from the Prehistoric Titans which roamed amidst the Ethers of Primordia.  Sometimes the mountains shift, great boulders float amidst the skies - in fact entire continents!  Strange golems sometimes morph from out of nature's womb.  These are said to be the remnants of the Prehistoric Titans.

Sei Jinn

A great spirit trapped within the nightmare realm.  They can only be summoned when light energy is absorbed by the beacons and/or when wind energy is gathered from powerful Storm Breakers.  When summoned they can bestow their masters with terrible powers from the dark realms of the abyss.

OBJECTS

Wind Chai

Mystic wrist wraps which help a Storm Breaker channel the winds with greater accuracy.  They can magnetically summon stones and other objects and be used to fling them with greater force.

The Fruit of Adeias

The forbidden fruit hanging from a tree which rests within the forest of Eternia.  It is guarded by a terrible monster called the LaRok.  This fruit is said to open the eyes of whoever eats it, awakening their hidden powers and revealing them esoteric knowledge which will help guide their path.  But what is not mentioned is the addictive nature of its juice, and what too much consumption does to the mind...

The Magical Chair

Blusage discovers a silver chair in the Corinthian Labyrinth.  It is a chair which bestows healing, allows one's mind to become one with the universe, and thus can lead one to mastery/sovereignty over what he or she wills.  But the longer one sits in it the more one wishes to be ruler over not only himself, but over all others.

The Games of Superium

After the Heavens were shattered and their realms dispersed amongst the mists of chaos, the goddess Ereiu beckoned forth from her womb a terrifying serpent.  It was Inkadu the Dread.  When he opened his maw he could swallow the seas.  When he spat he melted islands.  His belch trembled even the gods.

But the hero Uponus descended from on high to slay the demon.  But when he released his bow the arrows would not pierce the impenatrable scales.  And so he climbed Mount Superior, for the serpent coiled around it when it slumbered.  From its peak above the clouds he leaped and rode down Inkadu's twisting spine, using the winds of Eroleus to propel him faster.  When he neared the dragon's head he launched up high and crashed down his mighty fists upon the skull, delivering the monster to eternal rest.

For this the gods crowned Uponus their king.

In honor of this legend the Games of Superion were thus created, those competitions which drew the great champions from across the Lost Continents.  Chariot racing, sprinting, and boxing.  Those who were victorious in these emerged to hold dominion over the islands.

Story Demo Script

(Blusage and his father.  A Dream Deferred)

Sweeping overhead view of a range of black land prairies.  Camera soars over the rolling hills like an eagle in flight.  Small settlements start to appear over the landscape, a cross between western like cabins and Arabian dirt huts.  The settlements start to cluster into the little town of Tapokia, which sits beneath the rising sun.  Camera zooms towards the sun before rapidly cutting to the humble village.

EXT. TAPOKIA STREETS- DAY

The sun peers above BLUSAGE crouching on the rooftops.  He is  a 12 year old boy with strange ash gray skin and black stripes on his head that run down to the back of his neck and his shoulders. He is shirtless, revealing a lean, broad shouldered frame for his age.  His turquoise-silver eyes peer keen and hawk-like down at the people crowding in the streets below.  They are a mix of humans and another race called Ingrims; short sheep like people who are of a pastoral culture.

A  BAND OF MYSTICS enters the town with a large caravan trailing them.  They dress in dark, baggy garbs and have a diverse appearance; most of their kind have elven features with pale teal or purple skin.  Their caravan consists of gypsy like wagons with harems, camels, exotic birds, an elephant, and a prehistoric ox like monster with tremendous horns that spiral out.

Blusage nimbly leaps and jukes across the rooftops as the caravans passes below, displaying tremendous footwork as he keeps up with them.  His movements are at times beast like.  He follows them until they arrive at the local inns and begin to settle.  The crowd follows them with a mix of reactions; mostly awe and admiration, but many are fearful and withdraw from them.

Later, children gather around a well in the center of the town square near the markets.  They sit around two mystics; MYSTIC 1, a slim teal skinned fellow with long elf ears that stick out horizontally from beneath his jeweled turban.  MYSTIC 2 is the size of a 10 year old child, purple skinned, with baggy clothing and a cylindrical turban that covers his ears.  They bear an easy going swagger giving the children mysterious looks and casual grins as they act out the tales of their feats.  BLUSAGE watches them from a distance.

MYSTIC 1

(stalks slowly while brandishing a jeweled scimitar)

There was about 30 of them, and only me and the Fatal Dawn (slides his fingers along the edge of his sword)... but we were in the narrow cliff pass and their numbers meant nothing.  One by one I cut them down as a cleaver through grass...

MYSTIC 1 starts cutting arcs through the air, slashing at invisible foes with sly footwork.  The children are entranced, and some gape with giggles as he playfully jabs at them.  MYSTIC 2 has his elbow resting on the well, a smirk on his face.

MYSTIC 2

Easy now.  I think the lil' ones may need to help you with your math.  It was more like 15 Guaros you fought, but I suppose it's easier to just round up.  Still an impressive feat... but a Ka' Sai warrior would laugh if you tried braggin' about your 30 imaginary villains to one of them.

MYSTIC 2 gets off the well and begins to gesture to the children as he tells his story.

MYSTIC 2 (cont'd)

You see young'ns, the Ka' Sai are no ordinary warriors.  They are one of the mystic families, and they don't rely on mere steel to do their bloodwork.  I have seen them...bizarre fightin' monks who can perform all sorts of supernatural feats.  With my own eyes I have seen one - just one - vanquish 100 men.  When 20 or more of them battle together they can send entire armies fleeing.  They are so potent they don't even answer to the other mystic orders.  Some would say of them that they are the Chosen Ones from among the gods.

MYSTIC 2 gestures towards the heavens.  BLUSAGE leans closer to hear more but is struck sudden by the stern voice of LUTHANEAS, his father.

LUTHANEAS

Blusage!  We're headed to the temple.

Strong weathered fingers from hands that have worked many hard days clasp him on the shoulder.  BLUSAGE jumps from his trance and looks back at a large, muscular man in his 40s, a dark gray version of himself, dressed in a simple sleeveless tunic and pants.  Blusage's eyes dim as he looks down begrudgingly. MYSTIC 1 looks up, taking a bit of interest in them.  He nods while grinning at LUTHANEAS.  LUTHANEAS face hardens into a frown.  They turn to leave.

Cut to afternoon.  A view of the great stone hills that neighbor Tapokia.  Scene is reminiscent of a biblical setting with a few stone temples rising from the hilltops.

INT. TAPOKIA STONE HILL TEMPLE

BLUSAGE is standing next to his father as well as his mother, FEA, who has long curled hair streaked with purple.  She is also gray skinned but with a little more tan, beige in her hue.  BLUSAGE watches with undisguised boredom as an Ingrim priest sprinkles some glittering dust concoction into a great bronze bowl.  Some acolytes then bring a torch to him.  He looks up.  There is a rectangular opening in the ceiling which reveals the sky.  A few faint stars and the distant hazy moon can be seen through this heavenly window.  The priest throws his arms in the air, chants some prayers, and then tosses the torch into the bowl.  A cloud of gray smoke rises and fills the temple with flashes of twinkling light shimmering throughout it like small firecrackers.  Everyone present is staring in awe...except for BLUSAGE.

When this is finished the priest gestures towards LUTHANEAS who comes to the front.  A scribe brings him a worn, holy book.  LUTHANEAS flips through it to a certain passage and begins reading.

LUTHANEAS

Although you grow weary (pausing for effect)...and the troubles of this age bring your head low... I have not forgotten you.  Indeed I am with you.  I will bring my children to bear comfort to you...for they are of the wonders of heaven, a glimpse of the eternal peace my fruit bears...I will shower your faith and your righteousness with gifts.  My children will bestow you with the mark of my blessings, and from them I will pour unto you an abundance of joy, love, and healing...so that all may know that you are my Chosen Ones and that the Lord of Heaven watches over you.

As LUTHANEAS speaks his voice raises with emotional inflections.  The strong man's eyes glisten proudly as he begins to preach.

EXT.  STONE HILLS - SUNSET

As they leave the temple FEA looks at her son and notices his daydreaming gaze.

FEA

What did you think of the sermon dear?

BLUSAGE

It was alright.

FEA

Sounds like it bored you.

LUTHANEAS (grunts)

More than the tales of those mystics?  I would have thought listening to the scriptures of the Children of the Stars would have intrigued you more.

BLUSAGE

I like them fine it's just...the mystics tell stories about things that actually happened.

FEA

The verses from the Epics are true as well Blusage.

BLUSAGE

I know…  They just happened so long ago.  And I've never seen anything like what they talk about.

LUTHANEAS

You've never seen any of the things those blood thieves talk about either.  They can spin many spells with their lips – and none more potent than the lies they twist from truth

BLUSAGE

But they do show some proof of the things they speak of.  That big beast with the horns.  Did you know that comes from Apec Peaks?  They say it comes from the mountains beyond the Mystic Caves!

FEA

And where are the Mystic Caves son?

BLUSAGE

I dunno.  Probably in the great desert somewhere.  That’s how they get here right?

LUTHANEAS

You are getting too old to sit around listening to their fantasies. Those are children’s stories

BLUSAGE (mutters)

Then why do we listen to stories about "Star children"?

LUTHANEAS (gives him a hard glare)

Because we descend from them, and all that we have is from the Lord's grace.

FEA

We carry forth their blessings dear.  You have no idea how blessed you are.

BLUSAGE goes silent as they pass some Ingrims.  They don't speak but BLUSAGE sees a sick looking young one gazing at them, dazzled by their strange skin and their stripes.  BLUSAGE smiles uncomfortably and looks away.

BLUSAGE

The Ingrims seem to pray a lot.  They're always in the temples.  Why aren’t they blessed?

LUTHANEAS

What makes you think they are not?

BLUSAGE

They used to dwell on the Golden Plains I was told.  They lived there peacefully forever, but they were too weak.  The strong men came and took their land from them and made them slaves.  Now they only live here with us in Tapokia… or in the deserts.

FEA

They indeed have endured much.  But there is a peace in them that is absent in most who seem to have more.

LUTHANEAS

Only the Lord can provide that.  And I assure you that they shall be rewarded for their faith.

BLUSAGE looks back at the Ingrims doubtfully, then up towards the sky.

BLUSAGE

Looks like only a bit of light left.  (smirks)  You not too old to get beat in a few reps are you?

LUTHANEAS gives him a credulous look while FEA grins

TAPOKIAN WOODS – SUNSET

Scene changes to a hill near a forest, overlooking a marvelous sunset.  BLUSAGE and LUTHANEAS are standing at the edge of the forest facing each other with curved, blunted short swords in their hands.  Camera cuts back and forth between the two as their eyes lock in a silent duel.  Suddenly LUTHANEAS leaps back into the forest with superhuman swiftness.  BLUSAGE darts after him, matching his own speed.  As soon as he gets in reach of his father he begins cutting at him with his sword.  LUTHANEAS darts between the trees and narrowly avoids the blade time and time again, occasionally countering the attack with a few strikes of his own.  Throughout the duel the two continue to move at high speeds, rarely staying in one place for long.  LUTHANEAS then feints a strike at BLUSAGE’s legs, causing him to lose balance, then he pounces off the side of a tree and disappears up into the limbs.

The woods darken.  BLUSAGE prowls in search of his father.  The rustling of leaves causes him to search one opening.  A large dark figure shoots down on him like a bird of prey.  LUTHANEAS pins the back of BLUSAGE’s head to the ground with his forearm pressed against his neck.  LUTHANEAS’s stripes glimmer beneath the light of the emerging moon and stars, giving him the aura of a silent specter.

LUTHANEAS

Your vision betrays you.

BLUSAGE

But I was close this time.  Next time I will have you

LUTHANEAS

(unpins him and extends a hand to help him up)

Next time you would still be dead from this time… so your vengeance is in vain.

BLUSAGE

Perhaps my spirit in the afterworld would come to get you.

LUTHANEAS

Your spirit would be at rest among the stars.

The two walk through the woods until they return to the hill.  BLUSAGE takes a seat.

BLUSAGE

How much more did you learn from training as a Ka’Sai warrior?

LUTHANEAS

(bristles)  I told you.  I was never a Ka’Sai.

BLUSAGE

Could have fooled me.  You fight like they do.

LUTHANEAS

Have you ever seen a Ka’Sai fight?

BLUSAGE

No but I’ve heard-

LUTHANEAS

No one in Tapokia has ever seen a Ka’Sai truly fight so they know not what they speak of - not even the blood thieves.

BLUSAGE

Why did you stop training then?

LUTHANEAS

(looks down at his knees while rubbing his neck with a grimace)

My body could not fulfill the trials.  It was not in the Lord’s will for me to become one of the holy knights.

BLUSAGE studies his father’s face and senses there is regret that his dream did not come true.

BLUSAGE

That sucks.  I think you would have been one of the best among them… even if I haven’t seen them

LUTHANEAS

It worked out for the better.  I would not have you if I had stayed on that path.

BLUSAGE

Some trade off that is.  Give up being one of the greatest warriors in the whole world and you get… me (with slight disgust)

LUTHANEAS

(frowns)  There has been no greater blessing in my life than you and your mother.  Unworthy was I to receive such a gift, but the Lord graced me despite that.

They sit quietly for a time, soaking in the celestial skies and the sounds of abundant nature in the lively night.

LUTHANEAS

Your mother and I will be leaving soon on a pilgrimage with the Ingrims.  We will need you to maintain the home while we are gone.

BLUSAGE

How long will you be gone?

LUTHANEAS

However long the Lord wills it

BLUSAGE

(rolls his eyes)

That could be forever!

LUTHANEAS

The stars will guide us home when the time is right.

BLUSAGE

The stars seem pretty silent to me.  I don’t think I could wait that long without an answer.

LUTHANEAS sits next to his son and places a hand on his shoulder.

LUTHANEAS

They will watch over you as they have us.  Blusage… there will come a time when you will have to put your trust in something more than just yourself.  More than just what you can see.  The wise man knows that his eyes are at times as blind as the fool’s, all while the fool claims that he

sees everything even in the dark.

BLUSAGE just frowns as he ponders over that, then folds his arms and rests his chin on them, gazing up at the vast sea of stars...

(His Parents Depart.  Father bestows him with the phoenix wing)

EXT. TAPOKIA VILLAGE OUTSKIRTS - DAY

BLUSAGE stands near the village outskirts as he watches his family preparing for the journey.  His father is at the head of the pilgrims next to a very old Ingrim.  He makes sure FEA is secured on her camel before turning away from them and heading towards his son.

LUTHANEAS

Blusage.  I almost forgot.

He reaches into his pocket and hands him a small sack.  BLUSAGE looks in the bag and sees silver coins.

BLUSAGE

Thanks father, but I have all the coin I should need at the house.

LUTHANEAS

Look closer.  There's more than mere silver there.

BLUSAGE reaches around and then pulls out a peculiar shiny trinket.  It is a crystal crafted in the shape of a single wing.  BLUSAGE studies it for a moment.

BLUSAGE

An eagle wing!  Where did you get this?

LUTHANEAS

That's not an eagle's wing.  This belongs to the phoenix, the great bird of heaven and magic.  Given to me by a Ka’ Sai warrior, it is one of the few symbols that both the mystics and the holy men revere.

BLUSAGE

Thank you father

They exchange a firm hand shake, then embrace one last time.  BLUSAGE watches them as the caravan begins its journey.  He goes up on one of the hills so he can get a better view of them as they depart.  Up here the rising sun stands directly before them, and lights the pilgrimers with a radiant orange aura, like a beacon.  They diminish in size like ants trailing over the hill.  Then vanish.
